Reports to: Campus Pastor

Summary of Role

The Campus Kids Ministry Director will direct a comprehensive children’s ministry (birth to 6th grade) to grow children in their walk and understanding of Jesus Christ. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of Kids Ministry Director

  • Implement a campus ministry plan through collaboration with the Centralized Families Director
  • Be the face of the ministry
  • Point families to resources for staying connected
  • Connect parents to activities and events
  • Recruit, train, supervise and support an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members
  • Prepare with, evaluate during, and give feedback after services to large group and classroom Impact Team members
  • Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first-time guest and the lens of children and families
  • Regularly communicate with families and Impact Team members through multiple mediums (face-to-face, phone, social media, etc.)
  • Work with the Centralized Kids Ministry Director to prepare all Kids Ministry environments for weekend services
  • Ensure that all Emmanuel Church safety and security protocols are consistently followed to provide for the safety of children in the ministry
  • Participate in the planning, execution and attendance of department and whole-church events and camps
  • Under the direction of the Campus Pastor, execute campus-specific initiatives
  • Coordinate and support the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of childcare workers to support events on campus
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate degree in ministry or children’s development
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

    • Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

    • Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period off work each week)
