Summary of Role
The Seymour Campus Kids Ministry Director will direct a comprehensive children’s ministry (birth to 6th grade) to grow children in their walk and understanding of Jesus Christ. This position will also maintain excellent Kids Ministry environments and the contents therein by cleaning and maintaining the areas and managing the production for kids weekend services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the weekend service experience for elementary-aged children and their families, in accordance with Emmanuel’s Campus Constants
- Be the face of the ministry by maintaining a presence throughout kids ministry areas on Sunday
- Partner with parents to provide resources to equip families to reinforce the kids ministry weekend service topics throughout the week
- Connect families to events, activities and resources for staying connected
- Recruit, train, supervise and support an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members for birth – 6th grade and production
- Prepare with, evaluate during, and give feedback after services to large group and classroom impact team members
- Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first-time guest and the lens of children and families
- Manage the cleaning of Kids Ministry environments
- Regularly communicate with families and impact team members through multiple mediums (face-to-face, phone, social media, etc.)
- Prepare all Kids Ministry environments for weekend services
- Ensure that all Emmanuel Church safety and security protocols are consistently followed to provide for the safety of children in the ministry
- Participate in the planning, execution and attendance of department and whole-church events and camps
- Under the direction of the campus pastor, execute campus-specific initiatives
- Coordinate and support the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of childcare workers to support events on campus
- Lead production volunteers by producing a consistent, excellent weekend Kids Ministry service experience
- Oversee & troubleshoot audio, video and lighting during weekend experience as needed
- Manage and support stage projects, equipment installations, set design and implementation for Kids Ministry areas
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree in ministry or children’s development
- 2 years of related experience and/or training
- OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
- Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
- Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity
