Reports to: Associate Pastor

Summary of Role

Emmanuel’s Groups Director is responsible for the direct oversight of and care for groups and group leaders at the campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Care for and support the campus’s groups and group leaders
  • Cast vision for and maintain the vision of groups at Emmanuel
  • Recruit group leaders and provide systematic leader training as part of church-wide Impact Team Nights
  • Look for opportunities for new group types as needs in the community and at the campus arise
  • Work closely with centralized and campus staff to provide relevant, meaningful options for group curriculum and discussion
  • Partner with other centralized staff when necessary for coordination and execution of church-wide initiatives
  • Work closely with Events Director to support the execution of small group launches
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • College Degree or relevant ministry experience require
  • Two years of prior experience in management or leadership position is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Willingness to regularly participate in Emmanuel Church activities and events
  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period off work each week)
